BERNIE GARNER
Bernie Garner began his career in visual effects in 1989 with the introduction of the Newtek Video Toaster and its native 3D package, Lightwave. Since then, Bernie has established himself as one of the premiere 3D animators and visual effects artists in the state of Texas. He not only introduced Newtek’s Lightwave and Video Toaster suite to the Art Institute of Houston, but also built the first in-house 3D animation suite for a television network affiliate in Texas at KPRC-TV2 in Houston. It was there that Bernie further distinguished himself by winning two Emmy awards in 3D for his work at the NBC affiliate. Bernie has also worked freelance for such global companies as Pathfinder Energy Service, Western Geophysical, Toyota, and Baker Hughes.
DAVID STRICKLER
David Strickler started in the industry in 1988 as the chief audio engineer for Clear Lake High School and continued working in audio and music arranging and theory at the University of North Texas in Denton. During his time there, he interned at the UNT radio station, KNTU, and at KERA-TV 13, the public access channel in Dallas. After his time in north Texas, he returned to Houston and began studies at the Art Institute of Houston, which is where his association with Bernie Garner began. In 1999, David began working at the NBC Affiliate in Houston, KPRC-TV2, where he excelled at Visual Effects Compositing and 3D Animation. David has brought his 7 years of experience in Visual Effects and Compositing and 18 years of Audio Engineering and Music to Third Realm Communications.
